Bauchi State in North east Nigeria has been engulfed in a bloody religious conflict that lasted up to last Monday. At the last count over 15 Churches have been burned, over 15 people killed and presently over 500 people have been calssifoefied as internally displaced. As usual government action has attracted more criticism. Isa Yuguda, the Governor of Bauchi, who is said to be eyeing the office of the Governor of the Central Bank was reported to have said that the last few days crisis in Bauchi State resulted from the burning of a mosque. The impression is that Christians in Bauchi burned down a mosque and Muslims retaliated. what a retaliation!!!!!!!!
15 churshes for one Mosque?
But the statement was mischievous. Two rival Muslims sects clashed burning down a mosque over disputed leadership and the result was the rampage that resulted in the killing of well over 15 people, burning of 15 Churches and making over 5000 people homeless.
Even now the State Governor has told the people the full story. Gangs were still moving about with Petrol inhindered by the security.
