I agree with, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu that many strange things are happening in Nigeria, before and now. Even in the future I believe more will happen. Two years down the line Representatives are unable to receive the report of a committee that they set up. Click here to read the strange happenings in the House
According to the grapevine one Governor had mobilized his colleagues to help him stop the committee report. The Governors who themselves need shielding from the law obliged. Honourable members who desire to come back to the house obliged.
Indeed the governor had a good reason I am told. The Honourable Chairman of the Committee it is alleged had asked for a favour from the Governor who was a Minister in the power sector. The honourable was denied the favour and the probe for him was the means to take a pound of the flesh.
So the House took another third strange action. That is refusing to give a hearing ear to its Committee. So without knowing the content of the report the House was sufficiently worried to set up another committee to look into an unsubmitted report of its committee.
So the strange happenings will continue at the expense of the people of this country who are yet to recover from the economic mess that our political leaders are unable to sort out.
